Amen to that. Especially in the modern era, good things come to those who *make*.

Make it happen, make art, make time…it’s all in the doing.

I love it. Definitely a message I needed to be reminded of, even though I've successfully bucked the waiting trend before: when my wife and I got married even though the money situation wasn't right, when I booked a solo trip to the Galapagos Islands because I knew I'd never go if I didn't just do it. One of the places I still struggle to stop waiting is with my writing, though. I have such a hard time getting started, especially if I don't know exactly where I'm going. I need to just sit down at the keyboard and see what happens!

100%. To your point in writing—yes. It can be so hard to just start. I literally just word vomit incomprehensible run in sentences sometimes that are completely unrelated. Usually if I stare at them long enough I can extract something . 😃 you should try!

imperfect action beats perfect inaction every fucking time. Love this. And we are on a similar wave length.

“The good things? They come to those who decide they're tired of fucking waiting and start making good things happen instead.” Incredible!! I was truly almost in tears this morning over how frustrated I am with patience. I think it gets sold as a blanket statement to placate asking for more. I love how you framed this as patience and confidence being somewhat at odds with each other! I think we all need that push to go for it with a bit more bravery 🫶
