CARD ONE: QUEEN OF SWORDS

The Queen of Swords has always felt like a mentor to me in this deck–she’s the card that taught me that intellect and emotion don’t have to be enemies. When I first pulled her, I was struck by how she holds both her sword and an owl, symbols of clarity and wisdom working in harmony. The author describes her as someone who stands on focused zen ground, emotionally equilibrated yet intellectually sharp, and I’ve found this to be exactly the energy she brings to readings.

Our collective’s present energy feels like we’re being called to step into our own intellectual sovereignty. There’s a sense that many of us have been deferring to external validation or getting caught up in emotional storms when what we truly need is to trust our own sharp, clear thinking. Like the Queen holding her sword while perched with her owl, we’re being invited to make decisions from a place of both wisdom and decisive action, without waiting for others to approve our choices.
